New Horizon NGO is launching a new project called “Safe roads – a priority for my city” which aims to increase children and young people’s knowledge about traffic risks and road safety.
The project is funded by the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs, within the public competition “Save yourself, save others!” for 2020. and which will be implemented during the next 8 months in the territory of the municipality of Ulcinj.
Initially, an educational session for children and young people will be organized. Through this activity participants will improve their knowledge and skills in the field of road safety. Following this, we will conduct a survey of children and young people aged 14 to 16 in order to research and find out more about their attitudes on traffic and traffic risks associated with this age group.
Based on the results obtained from the research surveys, we will draft recommendations which will be submitted to local decision-makers in order to take concrete measures to increase the level of road safety for children in traffic.
The final activity of this project will be the press conference in which we will present the results of the research as well as the overall results of the project.
