In aim of approaching the youth current social processes, “New Horizon”, with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Montenegro, continues the practice of organizing educational programs on the EuroAtlantic integration.
Project NATO & YOUTH DIVERSITY DIALOGUE provides a unique opportunity to young people at the local level to get information on topics such as: NATO a political and military organization, the basic concept of global security, the concept of collective defense, the transatlantic link, Montenegro and EuroAtlantic integration, NATO in humanitarian operations and environmental protection, etc.
This project will include sets of activities, ranging from educational sessions, to certain educational and informative workshops, distribution of informative and educational materials to wider civic groups in the form of brochures and flyers, street events, study exchange visits, visits to the institutions,etc. Workshops will be held every Saturday and will last for two hours.
This project will help and contribute to increase youth capacities at an individual and group/community level as well as to set bridges of communication between institutions and youth, to bring new ideas, contribute to better understanding of the functioning of the State institutions, NATO Alliance and European Union.
At the end of the program, participants will receive a certificate for successful participation in this program.

Within this project, on November 9th our city visited a group of high school students from the north of our country.
After encounter with our students, came a joint visit to the Municipality. Warm welcome wished them a Deputy Mayor of Ulcinj, Met Gjoni and parliamentary Deputy, Genci Nimanbegu. On this occasion, the guests visited the Old Town, Museum, Turbe at the Small beach and a newly built “Sailor mosque” where they were informed with the history of our city by journalist, Mustafa Canka and Ismet Karamanaga, esteemed tourist guide. At the end of sights visits followed a visit of our premises, where Ulcinj and Berane high school students had the opportunity to meet each other better and socialize.

After a successful cycle of workshops on EuroAtlantic integrations and diversity dialogue, the project continued with common visits of the students from the north and south of Montenegro.
High school students from Ulcinj visited their peers in Berane on December 1, where a pleasurable welcome was prepared for them.

project first visited “Ðurđevi stupovi” Monastery after which came a reception at the town hall. Mayor of Berane Mr. Vuka Goluboviæ and Deputy Mayor Mr. Braho Adroviæ, welcomed high school students from Ulcinj. On this occasion high school students also visited the Polim museum, Memorial House of Gavro Vukoviæ – first Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Montenegro and Monument of Liberty – Jasikovac.

Fifty seven (57) high school students of diverse ethnic and religious origin from both Ulcinj and Berane received the certificates on the successful completion of the project.
U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro Sue K. Brown gave remarks and presented certificates at the closing event for the “NATO and Youth Diversity Dialogue” project at the Info Center for EuroAtlantic Integration in Podgorica on December 21. Within the ceremony, Ministry of Defence organized a visit for the students to the barracks in Danilovgrad.
This project was supported by the U.S. Embassy and implemented by New Horizon from Ulcinj and Spona from Berane, two small NGO’s focusing their activities on youth and their inclusion in the EuroAtlantic integration process.
